In our going green world protecting the environment is becoming more and more important Senator Byron Dorgan and Montana Senator Jon Tester are looking into fighting the cilmate change by capturing carbon Dorgan says captured CO2 can be used to enhace oil and natural gas recovery Jon Tester Montana Senator I think this is one of the great hopes that I see for getting our arms around climate change and if we can get through a public private partnership If we can get this technology to become real like I said we can lead the world in this effort Dorgan says more than 50 percent of our country s energy comes from coal Dorgan and Tester say the U S must develop cleaner ways to use coal to help create economic opportunities and lessen our dependence on foreign oil Bryon Dorgan ND Senator You look at oil and gas development you look at our coal resources you look at renewable energy in both of our states there are no two states in the country that are as poised to produce a bigger boost to energy than our two states The Senators say they believe the Upper Great Plains is a good location to begin testing and using carbon capture
